Our client purchased a derelict property with a rich history and embarked on an ambitious self-build project to restore and extend it. The client took on much of the refurbishment work themselves, including an extension to add additional rooms. To modernize the property and improve energy efficiency, they sought a smart home solution to manage lighting, security, audio, and heating control seamlessly.

Solution:

We recommended the Loxone home automation system, known not only for its versatility but also for its energy-saving features. The system was designed to optimize lighting, heating, and overall energy usage, reducing waste while enhancing comfort. Our team provided a complete design of the system, including a detailed cable schedule, enabling the client to install the cabling as part of their self-build process.

We visited the site several times to ensure proper installation and provided all necessary Loxone components for the client to handle on-site installation.

Implementation:

    •          System Design & Energy Efficiency: We designed an integrated system that provided control over lighting, security, audio, and heating. The Loxone system’s smart automation features, such as presence-based lighting control and intelligent heating schedules, ensured that energy was used efficiently and only when needed.

    •          Cable Schedule & Client Support: A detailed cable schedule was issued, allowing the client to carry out the installation while we made periodic visits to confirm everything was on track.

    •          Offsite Panel Build: We built the automation control panel offsite, which streamlined the on-site installation process.

    •          Onsite Termination & Programming: After the client completed the cabling, we returned to terminate the panel and program the system to suit their lifestyle and energy-saving goals.

Outcome:

The transformation of this historic property into a modern smart home was completed successfully. The Loxone system provides the client with intuitive control over their home, optimizing energy usage through intelligent lighting and heating management. This has resulted in not only enhanced comfort and security but also significant energy savings, helping to lower the property’s overall carbon footprint.
